For their project at TCB Gallery, Ahilapalapa Rands and Agnes So will present the gallery as a site in which the boundaries between performer and viewer are negotiated. Drawing on popular internet culture as a platform, the pair will engage with the spectacle of failure, creating a situation in which a consciousness of the nature of viewing occurs. This awareness calls into question the slippage of one’s constructed identity, and consequently allows a brief moment in time where we are faced with the reality of a person placed under the spotlight of the social stage.
