Working in black and white with both film and digital cameras, Clayton’s debut exhibition of photographs evoke an eerie, country gothic mood. Inspired by the work of Diane Arbus and Weegee, he takes risks and dares to photograph uncomfortable and challenging imagery, often including urban exploration and candid voyeurism.

A skateboarder since adolescence, he is influenced by the street in and out of town; interesting people, muscle cars, dirt roads, rural landscapes and sad, abandoned buildings form many of his subjects. This select body of work is a documentation of life, death and decay in urban and regional Victoria.
