DAN PETER PETERSEN
Excessive Convenience
09 Sept 2015—26 Sept 2015
Excessive Convenience is an exhibition of kinetic sculpture text pieces that display both symmetry and repetition, continuing Petersen’s interest in ‘the moving still image’.These sculptural text pieces are palindromic, activated by repetitive mechanical oil paint loaded strokes. The works attempt a sort of predictability in their ongoing mechanical oscillation, echoed by the text that is forever running back and forth.
Dan Peter Petersen lives and works in Melbourne. Petersen has been exhibiting locally over the past two years since he graduated his Fine Art degree in 2013. Recent exhibitions include No More Drama at Seventh Gallery, Language Face at Minerva Offsite and the Future Now tour held annually by The Substation.
