Sabotage in seven acts considers the psycho-terric melancholia (solastalgia) associated with vanishing lifeworlds, asking whether solastalgia can be transformed to carry political potency. It explores the speculative possibilities of a rumour of property destruction to defend a river system. It takes this rumour, constantly mutating, unverifiable, and wonders what worlds it could birth—whether truth or fiction or somewhere in-between, the rumour forces us to ask: should we not all engage in minor and major acts of sabotage? Does the disappearance of rivers not call for a filibuster, for a sustained insurgency?
