my place is John Rodger's most recent body of paintings that document his home at Holmes Street Public Housing in Northcote, which is set to be demolished and privatised.
These paintings offer a quiet reflection on the importance of home whilst speaking to the broader social impact of the displacement that this destruction will entail.


A silver elevator, ethereal light shining into the laundry room, a shadow, a bench where John eats his breakfast — these are some of the subject matter that John’s textured and energetic paintings portray.
