Never Eat Soggy Weet-Bix
17 Jul 2013—03 Aug 2013
The mnemonic device ‘Never Eat Soggy Weet-Bix’ is a well loved Australian vernacular used to help remember the four points of a compass. As always though, you need to know where you are before you decide which way to go. The exhibition at TCB takes this particular bearing, where, It seems, everything is North, except for icebergs.
Ben Terakes, Kenzee Patterson, Samuel Villalobos and Will French present together for the first time at TCB. Together they display individual works, which, much like the proverbial iceberg, have followed unseen currents and drifted far and wide. Concealed by submersion, the vast mass lies in wait beneath the surface, a stark contrast to what little is shown above, an alluring deception of vantage and facade.
