APPLICATIONS TO EXHIBIT BETWEEN MARCH – DECEMBER 2023 CLOSE MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY 31ST AUGUST 2022
TCB is an artist-run gallery in Melbourne, Australia dedicated to providing a space where young, emerging and established artists alike have the artistic freedom to explore, experiment and take risks within their practices.
TCB encourages critical conversation and exchange. Workshops, discussions and performances within the scope of the exhibition can also be accommodated, with support from the TCB collective.
In an attempt to revise the exclusively project based model of applications, artists can submit an application based on EITHER of the following proposal formats:
Application Option 1: a specific project proposition or;
Application Option 2: a body of existing work they wish to show or develop further
Application Option 1
Please include the following materials via email for Application Option 1:
- A completed ‘Application Option 1’ form
- A current artist’s CV (max 2 pages per participating artist)
- Project proposition:
- Description of the project/exhibition (max. 400 words)
- Examples of existing work
- Up to 10 supporting images and/or up to 5 minutes of video (link to YouTube, Vimeo etc. preferred)
Or
Application Option 2
Please include the following materials via email for Application Option 2:
- A completed ‘Application Option 2’ form
- A current artist’s CV (max 2 pages per participating artist)
- Body of existing work
- Up to 10 supporting images, including up to 5 minutes of video (link to YouTube, Vimeo etc. preferred)
- A Short description relating to the works or an artist statement (can include titles, materials, etc)
TCB only accepts proposals via email.
Documents for either Application Option 1 or 2 should all be saved as a single PDF or google docs folder and emailed to: tcbproposals@gmail.com
Application filenames should include your name and the year for which are applying to exhibit, eg:
Artistname_23
Please get in touch with us if you do not receive a reply email confirming we have received your application. This could mean it went to spam.
As we are entirely volunteer-run, please note that we ask exhibiting artists to invigilate a minimum of six hours during their exhibition period. Each exhibition stays open for 3 weeks.

TCB Art Inc. encourages critical conversation and exchange. As part of the exhibition, artists are encouraged to deliver a brief and informal artist talk at the commencement of their exhibition Workshops, discussions and performances within the scope of the exhibition can also be accommodated, with support from the TCB collective. We value projects that take risks, and encourage people with diverse practices and lived experiences to apply.
