Starring William Shatner As Curator 2010 portrays the working life of a curator in his daily adventures in space and other dimensions. Using appropriated footage from the popular television series, Spock and the Doctor are recast as Shatner’s assistant curators whilst other actors are recast as artists, curators and gallerists in a range of personalities from the violent psychopath to the considerate.

In Episode 1 Shatner encounters the wrath of a gallerist. In following episodes he suffers further trauma including the death of several colleagues. Children frequent many episodes and offer points of contemplation or confusion for Shatner. In episode 8 Shatner marries two employees of the organization, offering much needed respite from recent demands but is stopped short and rushed from the pulpit.

William Shatner As Curator asks many questions through its characterizations but intrinsically is a study of a man living in violence. Resembling buddhist koans, the series presents Shatner in stark silence, offering the character a slippery ambiguity whereby he walks a terrain of victim and saint.
