Loneliness of a long distance runner is a three screen moving collage. Tim Hillier’s video piece pays homage to Cliff Young, whilst he also examining the quixotic aspects of exercise and struggle in life to ‘keep on keeping on’. Cliff Young was an inspiration for the attitude of never giving up. To persevere. No matter how old or what is weighing you down. The three life stages of man, running forever around a track. The rhythms of life. The sound of feet tapping away. Eternal.
